Karen Elizabeth (Konery) Lowry, 66, Sandusky, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, January 21, 2020, at her home.
She was born on June 26, 1953 in Cleveland, OH, to the late Elmer and Elizabeth (Laczo) Konery.
Karen attended Berea-Midpark-Brookpark High School and Baldwin Wallace College.
She was employed for many years by Certainteed and Wal-Mart prior to retiring.
Karen was very proud of her Hungarian heritage and loved to prepare recipes like those of the old country. No matter what her own situation was, she always found a way to lift the spirits of those less fortunate than she and went out of her way to offer help.
She will be deeply missed by her children, Tracy (Ryan) Gorsuch, and Trevor Lowry (fiancee Courtney Jones); siblings, Louis A. Konery (Judith Crain) and Marion (John) Gordon; many cousins, including the Konery and Dienes cousins in Brookpark; nieces and nephews, Robert Holdt, Dennis Holdt (Barbara Holchnect), Candi (Bill) Roach, and Brian (Brandy) Konery; dear friends, Nancy Konery and Judy Bostater; and she will be missed by her faithful canine companion, Sparky. She warmly opened her doors to friends of her children and the neighborhood.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents; and many special aunts and uncles.
To those of us that loved her and were blessed to have her in our lives, she will always be our “KK”. Karen showed her strength and independence with passion and kindness throughout her life.
