William C. Farrell, 85, of Sandusky, passed away on Monday, November 25, 2019 in Stein Hospice Care Center, surrounded by his family.
He was born on February 21, 1934 in Sandusky to the late Clarence and Ruth Farrell. He enlisted at age 16 in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve, being honorably discharged. He then enlisted in the U.S. Army, and after another honorable discharge enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. William was a true patriot and was very proud to serve his country.
He retired from GM, New Departure, and was a member of the V.F.W. and American Legion.
William is survived by his children, Jeff Farrell, Mark (Patty) Farrell, Kimberly (Martin) Reed, and Kelli Petrick; grandchildren, Mandy (John) Fox, Melanie (Kris) Deering, Mariah Reed, Jordan Jamison, Dylan Petrick, Skyler Arrington, Shannon Johnson, Stevie Johnson, Glen Johnson, Shaun Farrell, and Cori Farrell; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; sister, Melvina Fritz; and a host of other loving family members and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, James Jackson, Alice Ferkle, Alberta Eddy, and Helen Diedrick.
Private family services will be held in Toft Funeral Home with Justin Toft officiating. Burial will take place in Castalia Cemetery, with military honors. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in William’s name to Stein Hospice, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, OH 44870.
