Robert “Carl” Cheek, 85, of Sandusky, passed away on Sunday, December 29, 2019 in the early morning in his home.
He was born on July 10, 1934 to Roy Cheek and Mamie Jean Cochran (Lester) in Middlesboro, KY. Throughout his life he worked as a laborer for the Ford Motor Company in Monroe, MI and in Sandusky, OH. He served in the U.S. Army where he deployed to Germany.
Carl was a devoted car lover and grandfather. He is survived by his only son, Gary Cheek, of Bellevue, OH; two grandchildren, Damon and Taylor Cheek; siblings, Mildred Jurs, of Huron, OH, Ann Bolen, of Indiana, Jimmy Cheek (Sue), of Bellevue, OH, Jan Johnson, of Tennessee, and Marsha Waterfield, of Sandusky, OH; and many nieces and nephews.
Private family services will be held. He will be laid to rest in his hometown of Tazewell, TN. Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky, is handling arrangements. Condolences may be shared with the family by visiting toftfuneralhome.com.
