Rita C. Fleming, 64, of Sandusky, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 6, 2019 in Toledo.
She was born on May 12, 1955 in Sandusky and graduated from Perkins High School. She worked 25 years for the Ford Motor Company, Sandusky plant.
She loved her music and playing the drums. She loved being around family, shopping, and getting her steaks from Golden Corral! She took great pride in her ride and had a big smile on her face – all the way to the end.
Rita is survived by her son, Anthony “Bruiser” Fleming; grandchildren, Bryson Fleming and Nevaeh Stein; sisters, Patricia Fleming, Renee McKinney, and Rhonda Kimble; brothers, Henry (Bard) McKinney, Richard Fleming, Eddie “Carlo” Fleming, Richard (Darleane) Kimble, and Randi Kimble; a very special niece, her road dawg, Robin (Kenny) Philon; godson, Pierre Coleman; special friend, Tanika Porter; and several loving nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Bessie Fleming; sisters, Margaret Jones and Alice Simmons-Jones; and brother, Benjamin Fleming.
It was Rita’s wish to be cremated. A private memorial service in Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, Sandusky. The family will again celebrate her life on Saturday, November 16 from 6-10 p.m. in the U.A.W. Hall, 3211 Bardshar Rd., Sandusky. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Rita’s name to her family, sent in care of Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky, OH 44870.
