Gary Allen Seavers, 72, Virginia, formerly of Sandusky, fell asleep in death August 1st 2019 at his home in Remington, Virginia.
He was born February 21, 1947 in Sandusky, Ohio to James and Naomi Seavers.
Gary travelled the world extensively, due to his employment and also at his leisure. He loved gardening and planting trees. He could command a room with his stories of his travels and adventures.
He is a 1965 graduate of Sandusky High School and a graduate of California State University of Los Angeles.He served four years in the US Navy and retired from the State Department of the US government, recently working as a contractor for the US government.
He is survived by his two daughters, Nadia and Jamillah of Morocco and two grandchildren, four brothers, Richard of Sandusky, Ohio; Theodore (Othella) of Altadena, California; Thomas (Renee) of Massillon,Ohio ;Gregory (Bessie) of Sandusky; one sister Vivian Lash of Sandusky, Ohio; two aunts, Dorothy Farrar of Sandusky, Ohio, Bertha Seavers of Cairo, Illinois and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins. He also leaves to cherish his memory special family friends; Emma Moore of Sandusky, Ohio, Samantha Briggs of Greenbelt, Maryland and Geraldine Craig of Warrenton, Virginia.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Naomi Seavers, three sisters; Audrey Parker, Swiyyah Mutaali and Joyce Seavers; four brothers, James, William, Robert and one brother who died in infancy.
Friends may call from 5- 8 P.M. Tuesday, August 13, 2019 in Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 A.M. in the funeral home. Greg Seavers, brother of the deceased, will officiate. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery.
