Blanche Roberta Foster, 85, of Sandusky, left this world on Tuesday, August 20, 2019 after a lengthy illness.
She was born on May 5, 1934 in Sandusky to the late Curtis and Roberta Gordon. A 1951 graduate of Sandusky High School, she worked for Philco and Heinz Cannery. Later in life she met and married Fredrick Foster.
Blanche loved to travel. She also loved music and was a wonderful dancer, which landed her and her cousin, Herman Moore, Sr., on American Bandstand. She had an eye for art, which gave her the ability to be an incredible interior decorator.
Blanche leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter, Adele Hasan; granddaughters, Tiffany (Dominique) Dambia, of Maple Heights, OH, and Marquitta Jones, of Los Angeles, CA; great-grandsons, Dashawne Hawk, of Norwalk, OH, and Nasji McGill, of Columbus, OH; great-granddaughters, Pharon and A’lasia Jones, of Los Angeles, CA, Brittany Moore, of Sandusky, and Carlaiya and Carleiya Jarrett, of Reynoldsburg, OH; four great-great-grandchildren; special niece, Paula Johnson Keys; special great-niece and –nephew, Kiya and Jeffrey Johnson; and special cousins, Herman (Vera) Moore, Sr., and Leatha (her late husband, Samuel) Fiske.
Blanche was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Fredrick Foster; son-in-law, Melvin Hasan; sister, Odessa (Singleton) Calloway; brother, Will D. Reed; and special aunt, Bessie Mae Stone.
Blanche was well lived and well loved. She leaves behind a host of other relatives and friends.
A special thank you to Verna Morris and Betty Haney, who assisted and who were especially supportive to Adele during Blanche’s illness.
Family and friends will gather in the coming days at 424 E. Adams St., Sandusky (Herman and Vera Moore’s home).
