Betty J. Meade, 84, of Sandusky, passed away Wednesday, April 17, 2019 in Parkvue Healthcare Center after a lengthy illness.
She was born on January 17, 1935 in Georgetown, Ohio to the late Omar and Cecil (Marshall) Lawrence. She was a die cutter for Displayco, and after retiring she kept herself busy by cleaning the Elder-Beerman store. She had such a strong bond with the people at the store that she continued to bring them cookies and other treats even after retiring again!
Betty had a big heart. She loved to do crafts, work on puzzles, read, and cook for her family. She would walk every day, no matter the weather. She will be deeply missed by her family.
Betty is survived by her daughters, Jeri (Gary) Adam, of Sandusky, Susan (Richard) Robinson, of Florida, and Bobbie Riesterer, of Sandusky; grandchildren, Jerimiah and Jarrett Young, John Paul Akers, and Lauren Riesterer; four great-grandchildren, Mya Dobbs, Kynslie Akers, Aja Young, and Wesley Cox; sister, Mary Jo Jones; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joe “Buck” Meade; and siblings, Harold, Margie, and Virginia “Teeny.”
Private family services will be held to celebrate Betty’s life. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Betty’s name to Stein Hospice,1 200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, OH 44870.
