Alfred R. Nardecchia, 98, Sandusky, and formerly of Milan, died Sunday, August 25, 2019, in the Ohio Veterans Home, Sandusky.
He was born in Norwalk, on December 8, 1920, and graduated in 1938 from Norwalk High School.
He retired in 1959 as Navy Chief from the U.S. Navy after 20 years of service. Alfred also worked for the U.S. Post Office, and Ford Motor Co. until his retirement in 1984.
He was a life member of the V.F.W., American Legion and Eagles, all of Norwalk.
He is survived by his daughter, Mary A. “Sue” Rakosky, Sandusky; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Melba in 2011; parents, Paul and Anna (Tomais) Nardecchia; brothers, Orlando, Louis, Dick, and William; sisters, Joan and Lydia; and granddaughter, Michelle.
At the request of the deceased there will be no visitation or services. Cremation will take place in Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Burial of the cremains will be in Milan Cemetery.
